Frequently asked questions.

  • Our fee schedule is based on a monthly planning fee and an Asset Based Fee. The monthly planning fee ranges from $295 / month to $795 / month based on your individual situation and complexity. For the assets that we manage we charge an Asset Based Fee that ranges from 0.5% - 1.5% based on the level of assets we are managing for you. We do not sell products, collect commissions, or receive referral fees. As a fee-only fiduciary, our clients have full transparency on the fees we are paid.

  • We don't believe in long term contracts. If we are not providing value to you every month then we don't want to continue our service. Everything we do is month-to-month, and you can cancel any time with a 30-day written notice.

  • We designed Tooth and Coin Wealth to be a financial planning firm that works with anyone at any asset level. The bulk of our client base are dentists between the ages of 30-50 and are either just getting started in practice ownership or have been at it a few years. We also work with individuals and families that are not dentists but our bread and butter is helping dentists.

  • We don't have an asset minimum and work with anyone at any asset level. If you don't have investment accounts, we'll develop a plan to help you build your wealth over time. Clients that have the most success will have free cash flow that we can use to decide between saving, spending, and paying down debt.

  • There are many opinions about what type of financial advisor to hire. As a fee only fiduciary you’ll know how much money we charge and don’t accept commissions or sell products.

  • Our home office is located in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas and we meet with clients virtually all across the country.

  • When you decide to work with us at Tooth and Coin Wealth you are signing up for a personal CFO service. We will help you get organized and wrap your arms around your money and your finances. We work with clients and monitor their financial health using the Elements Financial Planning platform. We monitor your financial vital signs including your savings rate, your debt rate, your personal spending, and your tax rate. We will look at your Estate Planning, your Investment Portfolios, and the insurances that you currently have in place and help you make sound decisions. In addition, we work alongside Tooth and Coin CPAs to help maximize tax advantaged accounts whether those be in a company retirement plan like a 401k or through a Health Savings Account, Roth IRAs or Education Savings Accounts. For dental practice owners we are able to help evaluate profitability and cash flow and identify opportunities for your business to become more profitable. As you navigate the different ways that money touches your life, we will be with you every step of the way. Regulations are constantly changing and we will serve as a second set of eyes so that we can continue to help you stick to your overall financial plan.

  • Investment Management is a big part of our financial planning offering. If you are looking to have individual stock picking as a major part of your portfolio, believe in and insist on market timing, or are overly focused on investment returns, we will not be a good fit for you. Our client engagement process is a collaboration between our team and you. We aim to have our services be an easy button for you but we can't do 100% of the work for you. We commit to show up and do our part and expect you to do the same. We also have a "no jerks policy" that goes both ways. We commit to not act like jerks and expect you to do the same. Life is too short to work with jerks.
